COCOMPEUR won award in Latvia

COCOMPEUR project was awarded with quality award “Sparni 2013” by the Latvian State Education Development Agency in december.

The agency evaluated 112 projects and awarded 10 nominations from schools, community organizations, universities, museums, municipalities that took place from 2009 to 2012.

The award was presented to the Latvian project partner Barkava Vocational Secondary School in the category of „Leonardo da Vinci partnership projects.”


COCOMPEUR project finished

With the end of July 2011 the activities of the COCOMPEUR project have been finished. The project offered construction sector specialists and teachers from Estonia, Finland, Italy, Latvia and Lithuania an excellent opportunity to compare each other’s standards, curriculas and methodologies.

In addition to that a lot of benchmarking was done and groundwork laid for future co-operation.

Meeting in Espoo with meetings and construction sites

There was a fruitful COCOMPEUR project seminar with meetings and visits to interesting construction sites.

Each partner presented their work on qualification standards and national safety regulations.

Visiting the workshop of Omnia first year construction students.

Participants visited two sites of the hosting partner Omnia where students are building new homes with the guidance of teachers. When completed, the houses will go for a sale.

Of the 110 construction workers at the new Omnia building, 40-50 were Estonian

The construction of the new Omnia building is going on, where will be spaces for the training spa, a la carte restaurant and partner companies. A large apartment complex by the Espoo railway station was also visited.

Next meeting in Espoo in January

Next COCOMPEUR project meeting will take place in Espoo, Finland. The partners will be hosted by Omnia, The Joint Authority of Education in Espoo Region.
